Degenerative disk disorder is a condition that forms when one or more discs between the vertebrae and spinal column begin to deteriorate resulting in pain.

The discs that cushion the vertebrae act like rubber and allow for flexibility and bending of the back. In time the cushioning is worn down and no longer offers effective protection.

Degenerative treatment may include occupational therapy, physical therapy, special exercises, medication, weight loss, joint injections, or often referred to as “Facet Joint Injections”. All the following can be effective in pain relief.

Degenerative disc disease is an age-related condition that happens when one or more of the discs between the vertebrae of the spinal column deteriorates or breaks down, leading to pain, despite its name, degenerative disc disease is not a disease, but a natural occurrence that comes with aging.
