to enhance and restore functional ability and quality to a patient’s life.
A physiatrist directs their attention to the entirety of a person
they address a patient’s physical, emotional, and social needs during their treatment plan.
Physiatrists specialize in the diagnosis
and treatment of patients with chronic illnesses, injury, stroke, acute and chronic pain,
and musculoskeletal injuries.
Resources a physiatrist may use but are not limited to are social workers, occupational therapists,
speech and language pathologists, home care, and athletic trainers.
